Sad / Happy

As promised, Sabine's sad face:

This is in honor of our first and hopefully last (though, I fear, that may be optimistic) visit to urgent care after a little playground incident. Her real sad face is much more heartbreaking. Fortunately, she seems to be much better now. Her foot caught on the slide, but after x-rays and some Tylenol and sleep, there don't seem to be any broken bones or even bruises. Just a little sprain. She was limping yesterday, and only a little bit today. Kids are certainly resilient. She was quite the belle of the urgent care ball, playing with all the toys, saying "HI!" to everyone who came in and out. Definitely the happiest kid in the waiting room.

So we're mostly back to normal, and she's gotten some extra video time in, which has made her a very happy toddler. Sabine, can you smile for the camera?

And here is a picture of a non-forced grin:

My favorite part is the tongue sticking out. Sabine was fully dressed before she saw the dress hanging in her closet, and then nothing would do but she absolutely had to put it on, so on it went, over her outfit. It actually kind of worked, since it's at least a size too big. But it made her seem as excited for spring as I am!

  1. Darling dress! I didn't even think that the leggings weren't meant to go with it -- I just figured that one does what one has to do when one must wear a summer dress in the middle of winter. ;)
