Halloween is almost here, and we've definitely been getting into the spirit.
Waiting for the bus on Friday morning.
Sabine's school does an annual Halloween parade down Main St., and as a Kindergartener, Sabine got to be at the front of the line. Aspen and I drove over to walk much of the parade with the kids, and attend the party, afterwards. It was a little drizzly, but the kids all braved the weather, and Aspen dealt with the stroller ride for the two-mile round trip.
This year, Sabine dressed up as Toothless, from the How to Train Your Dragon movie (even though we haven't seen the whole thing yet, due to some scary parts) and Aspen will be going as her dragon trainer.
Sabine walked right in front of her teacher for most of the parade.
Sabine's principal always leads the parade, dressed as the school's mascot, a panther.
Passing by her old preschool.
Made it back to school!
The kids listened to a story while the parents helped get the food set up.
All in all, a successful, if chilly, adventure!
When Sabine got home from school, Grandmom and Grandpa were there, ready to help us carry in the pumpkins and continue another Halloween tradition, jack-o-lantern carving!
The pumpkins were "Heavy!" as Aspen will tell you.
We took the design process seriously this year:
The girls watched patiently while we opened a pumpkin up:
And then were big helps scraping out all the insides:
We are ready!
