Yesterday, Aspen turned 20 months old.
She seems to be growing by leaps and bounds these days, both physically and mentally. She's taller, her 12 month-sized clothes are getting tight and short. She gets multiple M&Ms most days for successfully using the potty. 90% of the time she requests a "lellow" one, as yellow seems to be the emerging favorite color. (Or, at least, favorite to say.) She correctly identifies yellow most of the time, and usually blue and purple. Green and red (and black and white) are more hit or miss.
Aspen's developed a fondness for Sabine's baby doll Lulu, and we have noticed Lulu around for a lot of activities these days, including wanting to take her to bed for nap time. Along with goat, of course.
Aspen still uses a pacifier to go to sleep, and she calls them "blue"s because her favorite ones are the blue ones. She has stopped calling our neighbor Amy, "Money," much to all of our dismay, and can now correctly pronounce "Amy." She can now also pronounce "owl," so they are no longer "hoo-hoo"s.
She's getting better at running:
and she can put on her shoes and fasten them up by herself.
In family news, we made it back to Cottonwood Farm for their pumpkin patch this year!
(Here's a LINK to see last year's picture, for comparison purposes.)
Grandmom and Grandpa were there to help navigate the hay bale maze,
and pull the wagon.
Wagon rides seemed to be the highlight of the whole trip, for Aspen.
But with a little cajoling from all of us, especially big sister, she got out of the wagon to see some animals
and put her head through some windows for some funny pictures.
And, ultimately, of course, searching out the perfect pumpkins.
We also made a detour for the annual discussion of the steam tractor.
And more pictures.
And gourds.
This morning, Sunday, we made it back to Rock Creek Pumpkin Patch, with the girls' cousins.
They all loved the jumpy pumpkins:
and the inflated slide.
(Aspen had to go down on my lap, but she LOOOOOVED it, and was quite disappointed when we didn't go more than a couple times.)
Fortunately, daddy was there to help distract her.
As well as lots of other things to see and do.
