We're headed into week 12 already, I can't believe it. Work is going well so far, I just have a lot to do so blogging may be slow for a while.
Sabine is smiling more every day, and is becoming quite good at getting her fist to her mouth. She's got a good grip, too, and grabs onto her rattle now. Sometimes it makes her grin to hear it, and sometimes she clunks herself in the head with it and...doesn't enjoy that quite as much. It's a steep learning curve.
She's also still not a fan of tummy time. We're supposed to be doing it for ten minutes a day to strengthen her back and neck muscles. Apparently with the back to sleep campaign (AAP recommends putting children to sleep on their backs to reduce the chances of SIDS) babies these days are crawling and sitting up later because their back and neck muscles aren't as developed from lying on their back all the time. Sabine was pretty good at it for a while, until she started exploring everything with her tongue. Now she just lies face-down on the blanket and gums at it until she screams. So we haven't been pushing the issue. She's so wiggly already, we're suspicious she's not going to be too much of a late bloomer when it comes to getting mobile!

LOVE the outfit!! We need to get together sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteSometimes in pictures she and Sadie look very much alike, I think! Super cute.
ReplyDeleteIf Sabine ends up being a late bloomer in mobility, enjoy it. Embrace these short-lived you-can't-help-but-stay-where-I-put-you days! ;)
ReplyDeleteShe is an absolute doll. She's such an official "baby" now, no longer a newborn. She's really filling out. So cute!
Oh my goodness she is too cute!!!! You guys did good!
