We made our annual trek to Estes Park with our friends this weekend. It was an overall success; Sabine had a great time adding to our tradition, and Aspen did wonderfully (sleeping more than Sabine at night!) on her first overnight trip away from home.
We spent a lot of it just hanging around the cabins with our friends.
The older girls spent a lot of time outside, collecting rocks and flowers.
On Saturday most of the group went for a hike:
While Aspen and I stayed back and on our eating/feeding schedule. We still got to spend some time outside in the cool, fresh mountain air.
Afterwards, everyone spent some quiet time. Sabine and E painted rocks in our cabin.
And Aspen and Aunt Kristin and I watched.
We took off on Sunday, but not without stopping for some pony rides. I think this was the highlight of the trip, again, this year, for Sabine!
Then Aspen allowed us how it was time to head home, so we did!

Four Months Old
Aspen is officially four months old!
We went to the doctor yesterday, and her official stats are:
Height: 24.75" (67th percentile)
Weight: 13 lbs 3 oz (30th percentile)
Head circ: 16 3/8"(76th percentile)
You can see Sabine's stats from the same age HERE
They are pretty similar!
And despite another intense round of vaccines just two hours prior, Sabine managed to elicit the very first laughs we've ever heard from Aspen, yesterday!
Sabine is really proving to be a big sister extraordinaire.
It's been wonderful watching their relationship grow, too.

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day, to our two favorite fathers.
We had a nice day here at home with both of our families.
Sabine even made a card for daddy.
With my daddy,
Grandpa extraordinaire.
There was some good cousin time, too. The two youngest had quite the stare-off!
We've also had a good couple of weeks here, so to catch up on pictures of the sisters:
Watching sister while sister watches a movie.
What we don't do for some tummy time!

Ready for Summer! (And 14 Weeks)
We're ready for summer!
Sabine's last day of preschool was last Thursday. (We have a week off, and then the summer session starts--same days and hours so her routine isn't disrupted too much.) But to celebrate the end of the year, we went over to Sweet Cow, our local ice cream shop, with several of her classmates, for some ice cream and after-school playtime.
For Memorial Day, we went in to Denver and had dairy free pizza at Mellow Mushroom. It was excellent! Aspen still has a dairy sensitivity, so I've been trying to avoid everything dairy (including, butter, cheese, and chocolate) and it was no small gift to find dairy-free pizza.
We spent the rest of the week on lots of play dates, trying to fill our time. We even went back to farm one day (Sabine is actually starting there again in the fall) with some friends, and Sabine had lots of fun playing tour guide.
Aspen is getting stronger by the day. We celebrated 14 weeks by trying out the Bumbo seat, and she loved it!
Her core is getting a lot stronger in general; you can see her trying to sit up a lot these days.
Her cough/cold finally ended, and her appetite has, thankfully, come back.
We've also found a way to do tummy time that she actually likes.
Any way to be with big sister is a win.
