Last Friday night, Sabine "graduated" from her farm school. I am not sure what that means, other than the spring quarter was done, and the summer session started this week. Still, it was a fun excuse to go to the farm one evening and see what it is that Sabine has been doing on Monday mornings after I drop her off. Apparently the swings (there are various kinds) are always popular with Sabine. Not a surprise, to anyone who has ever been to a park with her EVER.
There is a treehouse, and Sabine made it up the stairs by herself, but didn't want to go across the bridge alone.
There is a silo with a sandbox inside:
And even a few animals! (At the farm. Imagine that.) Sadly, Sabine was not interested in posing with any.
The corn shed was our next stop. Sabine knew exactly what to do. She took a scoop of corn (with a little rake?)
And carried it out to feed the goats.
Mommy was so proud!
Then racing back to the shed.
Where I sent Dustin a text message. "Riddle solved! (Question: how does Sabine manage to come home with corn in EVERY article of clothing on her body each week?)
We explored the hay bales a little bit
And found an outdoor sandbox, where Sabine immediately got to playing bulldozer. I was guessing this was not her first time.
And we admired some tractors and ran VERY FAST along the path...
where we found a plank, which apparently Sabine was familiar with.
Our last goodbye was to Sabine's favorite animal, Osama the llama.
She waves hello every time we get out of the car at the farm, and often requests to go over and see him to say goodbye when I pick her up.
Fortunately, the new summer session started today, so she got to see him again before too long. And it was a good reminder to me to get these pictures posted before they become too outdated! The farm has been a great experience for Sabine. She has some little friends and a nice teacher, and she has gotten much more comfortable with the animals. I love that she comes home exhausted, covered in mud and corn. She just seems to be getting some invaluable outdoor time, not doing much other than being a kid on a farm.
